Legend in jumping horse breeding
Kannan, who passed away in 2020, is the only KWPN stallion who has led the WBFSH Show Jumping Sire Ranking. This international Grand Prix stallion made a name for himself in the sport in France and did so worldwide in breeding. Kannan’s first crops directly achieved unprecedented successes in sport, from young horses competitions towards the Olympic Games. His son Nino des Buissonnets, for example, became Olympic champion in 2012 with Steve Guerdat. Other Grand Prix winners by Kannan are Albführen’s Paille (also Guerdat), Quabris de l’Isle (Pedro Venis), Molly Malone (Bertram Allen), Quorida de Treho (Romain Duguet) and Diva II (Ben Maher).
Meanwhile, the influence of Kannan is global. In recent years, several direct offspring have been approved by the KWPN, his original studbook. The mighty Kannan has also produced many great broodmares, with the dam of the Grand Prix stallions Bacardi VDL (Janika Sprunger) and Apardi (Daniel Bluman) as a beautiful example.
Kannan himself is out of the famous dam line from the Kramer family breeding in the Netherlands. Out of this dam line we also know former KWPN champion Kannan Jr., whose granddam Lady-Meta is the full sister to Kannan
The fixed fees are €350 and when in foal a further €2.150 must be paid. The total cost is therefore €2.500. The shipping costs for this are €70.
